1. Tooth profile error of gear hobbing machine

The machine tool is a gear processing machine tool that combines a generating motion mechanism and a gear-separating motion mechanism, such as a gear hobbing machine and a gear shaper. For this type of machine tool, the main factor that directly affects the tooth profile error of the gear is the manufacturing sharpening of the tool. The higher harmonic components in the installation error and the transmission error of the split-tooth transmission chain, such as the period error of the indexing worm and the pitch error of the tool transmission gear.

2. Basal segment deviation

The base pitch deviation is the difference between the actual base pitch and the nominal base pitch of the gear. We know that the condition for the angular meshing of involute gears is that the base sections of the two gears are equal. If one of a pair of gears meshing with each other has a base pitch deviation, their teeth will produce instantaneous transmission ratio changes when entering or exiting meshing, causing shock and vibration.

3. Pitch deviation

Pitch deviation refers to the difference between the actual pitch and the nominal pitch on the index circle. It differs from the base pitch deviation in that the base pitch is measured along the meshing line, while the pitch is measured on the index circle. . The pressure angle error is reflected in the tooth profile error. Therefore, from the perspective of evaluating the stability of gear transmission, sometimes the pitch deviation can be used to replace the base pitch deviation. The pitch deviation is mainly caused by the short cycle error of the machine tool indexing motion mechanism.
